This is so simple to make and it will make a delicious addition to a Fathers Day celebration.

The alcohol in the cider [or pale ale if you prefer] helps the bread rise and will cook out just leaving a delicious taste.

It is best eaten on the day it is made, but to really appreciate the texture and flavour eat it warm with lots of butter!
Ingredients 

4 cups sr flour

1tsp mustard powder

2tsp salt

150-200g grated sharp cheddar cheese

1 green apple grated

2tsp honey

350ml alcoholic tart apple cider

Preheat the oven to 200c.

Preheat the oven to 200c.

Sift the flour, mustard powder and salt into a large mixing bowl.

Stir through the cheese and grated apple.

Make a well in the centre, pour in the beer and honey and stir until thoroughly combined.

Tip the dough onto the bench and give it a light knead, shape it into a round loaf and place it onto a lined baking tray.

Make a small cross in the top of the loaf and Place in the oven.

After 5 minutes turn the oven down to 180c and continue to cook for a further 45 minutes.

Tap the bottom of the loaf, if it sounds hollow the loaf is cooked.
